This letter is to formally notify you that I/we plan to homeschool my/our child(ren) as allowed under the Washington State Home-Based Instruction Law (Chapter 28A.225 RCW). This letter is in compliance with the requirements to inform the local school district of my/our intent to provide home-based instruction in lieu of attendance or enrollment in a public school.

I/we understand the legal requirements for providing home-based instruction in Washington State, including but not limited to, the requirement that the education provided is under the supervision of a person certificated in Washington State, or that the child is taking a test annually administered by the school district or an independent test approved by the State Board of Education, or that a child is working under a qualifying parent-supervised course of study.
